Professional Statement
Dr. Hummel completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology.
He then completed medical school at the Texas School of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. After a year as Chief Intern at Plaza Medical Hospital in Fort Worth he moved to Boston and completed his anesthesia residency at Boston Medical Center.
He completed his formal training while doing an advanced Fellowship in Pain Medicine in Rochester, NY at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Hummel then joined the Caritas Medical Group in early 2009 and was instrumental in transforming the pain clinic at Norwood Hospital into a modern, multidisciplinary clinic. After helping lead the Norwood Pain Clinic for the next three and a half years he left Norwood Hospital to become Medical Director of Norwood Comprehensive Pain Management.
